Sanju Samson was first seen in the IPL as a teenager at the age of 18 playing for the Rajasthan Royals. He was part of the Kolkata franchise in 2012 but did not get a game and he was a young sensation talked about highly in the domestic circuit. He had a lot of natural talent and was considered to be the next big thing in India.

He made his first IPL fifty at the age of 18 years and 169 days which remained the youngest for a long time until Riyan Parag broke the record. His impressive stint in the IPL earned him an Indian Cap but he couldn’t utilize the opportunity effectively and had to be dropped from the Indian T20 squad.
