The MI vs DC encounter will take place at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on October 2. While DC take the 2nd spot in IPL 2021 points table, MI hold the 5th spot.

In their previous game, MI defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets. PBKS batted first in the match and piled up 135-6 on the scoreboard. During the chase, middle-order batsman Saurabh Tiwary played a fantastic knock of 45 runs for MI. Later, Hardik Pandya also hit unbeaten 40 runs to take MI to victory by 6 wickets. PBKS spinner Ravi Bishnoi took 2 wickets while pacers Mohammed Shami and Nathan Ellis got 1 wicket each.

Talking about Delhi Capitals, the Rishabh Pant-led side lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous game. Batting first, DC started well with openers Steve Smith and Shikhar Dhawan hitting 39 and 24. However, DC lost some quick wickets which affected their run rate. Rishabh Pant played a slow-innings of 39 runs in the end as Delhi reached 127-9 on the scoreboard.

For KKR, Lockie Ferguson, Sunil Narine, and Venkatesh Iyer picked 2 wickets each to crush DC batsmen. Later, KKR also struggled during their batting. At one stage, KKR reached 96-5 and faced a tough batting situation. However, Nitish Rana scored unbeaten 36 runs and helped KKR to finish on the winning end by 3 wickets.
