Delhi Capitals’ opener Prithvi Shaw set the stage on fire on Thursday as he mustered a blistering half-century against the Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad. Prithvi Shaw’s 41-ball 82 flattened the Knight Riders as he built an opening partnership of 132 with Shikhar Dhawan. The right-handed batsman’s rumoured girlfriend, Prachi Singh, has reacted to the same, expressing her proudness.

Prithvi Shaw started the 155 run-chase brilliantly as he took the Knight Riders’ paceman Shivam Mavi for a ride, smashing six consecutive fours in the first over. The 25-run first over pushed the two-time champions as the rest of the innings became a cakewalk for the Capitals. Shaw, who scored his third half-century of IPL 2021, missed out on a well-deserved hundred, with him top-edging to point.

The 21-year old’s 41-ball knock contained 11 fours and three sixes and would have become the third centurion of this year’s edition. Earlier in the innings, Kolkata put on an underwhelming batting display after losing the toss, managing only 154. Andre Russell top-scored with 45 off 27 deliveries; however, the middle-order hardly contributed anything, with captain Eoin Morgan and Sunil Narine registering ducks.

Having received many awards apart from the man of the match award, Prachi also sarcastically mentioned whether he would need a new suitcase to accommodate them.
