They are currently languishing at the seventh position on the table, having managed only 5 wins in 12 games. They are still in contention for making the playoffs, however, another defeat from here could really hurt their chances.

Openers: Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock

Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock haven’t made great returns in the last couple of matches despite being in solid form with the bat. With the middle order enduring a torrid run, either one of them needs to play a big inning on Tuesday. Rohit Sharma scored 7 off 10 balls in the last game against DC, while De Kock departed for 19 off 18 balls.

Middle-order: Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Saurabh Tiwari

Suryakumar Yadav looked in great touch in the last game. He played some heart-warming shots during his 26-ball 33-run knock but couldn’t go on to play a big score. Nevertheless, this would give him a lot of confidence ahead of the coming game. One could expect a big score from his willow in the next game.

Saurabh Tiwari has been contributing consistently to the franchise this season. He has made most of whatever opportunities has been given to him. The southpaw scored 45 (37) and 15(18) in the last two games he played.

Hardik Pandya played a match-winning 40-run knock off just 30 deliveries against Punjab but got out early in the last game against DC. Ahead of must-win games for MI in the tournament, the MI all-rounder has needs to step up with the bat.

All-rounders: Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya

It is safe to say that Kieron Pollard has struggled to hit the straps on the slow and sluggish tracks in UAE. He has only one decent score to his name but other than that, it has been a disappointing campaign for him with the bat. He came to the crease as early as in the 10th over in the last game against DC but couldn’t make the most of the opportunity. Pollard scored 6 runs off 9 deliveries.

Krunal Pandya is one of the biggest flops in IPL 2021. Despite enduring disappointing numbers with both bat and ball, MI have kept faith in him and is likely to continue giving him opportunities. Pandya scored 13 off 15 balls and picked 1 for 18 in 2.1 overs in the last game against Delhi Capitals.

Bowlers: Nathan Coulter-Nile, Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah

Nathan Coulter-Nile has bowled pretty well in both the last two games he played. He might not have picked a lot of wickets but has been pretty economical with the ball. Besides, Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah should complete the playing XI.

The duo should lead the fast bowling attack and think to create pressure by picking wickets. Jasprit Bumrah is in brilliant form and will be the man to watch out for.
