KL Rahul:

KL Rahul has been the second-highest run-scorer in IPL 2021 and his consistency levels have been really fascinating. He has scored a huge percentage of runs for the PBKS side of their totals and his captaincy has been that bad either. Despite all, Punjab has been losing games that they should have won and it is a strange one.

Over the years, Rahul has curbed his natural instinct of going hard in the powerplay as they don’t bat deep and it has haunted them to an extent. The right-hander along with Agarwal has been giving excellent starts at the top but still, Punjab hasn’t been able to capitalize and get over the line. The left-hander regained his form in the international stints and in the CPL and showed glimpses of his good form in the first game against RR where he scored 32 off 22 balls.

Pooran is one of those players who can change the match in a very quick time with his big-hitting abilities and Punjab will require special innings from him if they have to get into a winning habit. The left-hander is phenomenal to watch when he gets going and he will be eyeing big innings as well.

Mohammed Shami:

Mohammed Shami has been leading the pace attack for the Punjab Kings side in the last two years and he did a fine job in the first game against RR in IPL 2021 UAE phase. Opening the bowling, he picked up 3 wickets giving away just 21 runs and bowled very economically as well.

Shami’s rhythm was quite good as well and he seemed to take it off where he left in the impressive England tour. He still has a lot of pace to offer and Punjab will certainly do well if Shami can pick up those early wickets with the new ball.
