The young Delhi Capitals (DC) pacer Avesh Khan shined with the ball in the 46th Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 match between Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

On the slow Sharjah surface, he looked excellent and bagged 3 big wickets. In the 19th over he first castled Hardik Pandya with an exceptional looking toe-crushing yorker and in the 4th ball he dismissed bowling all-rounder Nathan Coulter-Nile.

He bowled a fullish delivery and it was dipping at 140 kph and Nathan Coulter-Nile was unable to get any connection with the ball and the ball went on to smash the timber behind him.

Losing the toss, Batting first Mumbai Indians lost the opener and their skipper, Rohit Sharma, in the second over to Avesh Khan. Soon after the powerplay ended Quinton de Kock was sent back to the pavilion by left-arm-spinner Axar Patel.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav who was on a rough patch finally showed some form by smashing 2 maximums and 2 fours. However, Axar Patel once again helped Delhi Capitals (DC) by dismissing set Suryakumar Yadav. Notably, Suryakumar Yadav managed to score 33 off 26 deliveries which have been his best performance so far in the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

Soon Proteas Anrich Nortje was handed over the ball by Rishabh Pant and he was able to get a big breakthrough of powerhouse Kieron Pollard in the very first ball of 15th over. Nortje bowled an amazing change in pace delivery and it got an inside edge and crashed into stumps.

Meanwhile, after that Krunal Pandya and Hardik Pandya were seen struggling out in the middle and after losing wickets at regular intervals. Mumbai Indians were able to post only 129 runs on the board at the loss of 8 wickets.

Notably, Suryakumar Yadav top-scored for Mumbai Indians with 33 runs. Also, Avesh Khan and Axar Patel were the best bowlers for Delhi Capitals as they managed to scalp 3 wickets each.
