The IPL 2022 Mega Auction is scheduled to be held on 12th and 13th February 2022 in Bangalore. As of now, 33 players have either been retained or acquired by the new franchises. The rest of the players will find themselves at the auction pool.

As per the data revealed by the organizers, 1214 players have registered themselves at the mega auctions. Of 1214, 896 players are Indians. These players have further put themselves under different base price categories.

The top talents in Indian cricket have put themselves under INR 2crore base price category. The other category includes 1.5 crore, 1 crore, and 50 Lakhs.

There are some talented Indian cricketers who have kept themselves in the INR 1 crore bracket. However, due to poor form and age concerns, they might not find any buyer. On that note, we take a look at three Indian players under INR 1 crore who might go unsold at the Mega-Auctions.

  1. Piyush Chawla

Piyush Chawla made headlines during the 2020 IPL Auctions after CSK bought him for a whopping amount of 6.75 crores. However, the Indian spinner couldn’t live up to the billing as he could only manage to pick 6 wickets in 7 matches and gave runs at more than 9 an over.

The following year, he turned up for Mumbai Indians but only played a solitary game. He went for 38 runs in his four overs. The last two years have been forgettable ones for the Indian leg-spinner and the franchise aren’t likely to show interest in him in the upcoming mega-auctions.

  1. Kedar Yadhav

Once an integral cog in India’s white-ball set-up, Kedar Jadhav is now a forgotten commodity in the game. He faced a lot of criticism after enduring poor performances in the ICC World Cup 2019. The Indian cricketer has since been overlooked by the team management,

Yadhav’s performances in IPL, over the last few years, don’t inspire a lot of confidence either. His downfall in IPL began during the 2019 edition of the tournament. Yadhav receive severe criticism for his lacklustre performances that season. In 14 matches, he managed to score 162 runs at a strike rate of 95.85.

Jadhav turned up for Sunrisers Hyderabad last year but failed to impress with the bat. It’s unlikely that any franchise would want to give him another chance to revive his career and thus Kedar Jadhav is likely to go as well.

  1. Manish Pandey:

Much like Kedar Jadhav, Manish Pandey too is no longer in India’s scheme of the things in white-ball cricket. Manish Pandey’s recent form doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence and with so many young talents coming up the ranks, he might not get a chance to play ever again for India.

Pandey struggled to play aggressively last year for SRH and we couldn’t see him converting those starts into big scores. Pandey scored 292 runs last season at a strike rate of 123.72. One shouldn’t get surprised if he finds no buyer at the auctions.
