The four-time champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on the defending champion Gujarat Titans (GT) in the first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, March 31. Tushar Deshpande shared an interesting story about how MS Dhoni’s advice helped him do well in domestic cricket.

Tushar Deshpande made his debut for the Delhi Capitals in the world’s best T20 league in 2020. The right-arm pacer was picked by the Chennai-based franchise for his base price of Rs 20 lakh at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. The 27-year-old represented CSK in two matches last season, picking one wicket with an average of 63 at an economy rate of 9.

Helped Me Perform Really Well – Tushar Deshpande

Tushar Deshpande said that his chat with MS Dhoni helped him grow as a bowler and as an individual. Deshpande said he learned how to take responsibility when the team is under pressure.

“When the season ended, I had a chat with Mahi bhai. He told me a few things that helped me grow as a bowler and as an individual. That helped me perform really well in the First-Class season,” Deshpande told Chennai Super Kings.

“I ended up picking a total of 51 wickets, which was never achieved by anyone from my state. And the one thing which I learnt from Mahi bhai is how you own the game. You take the responsibility on yourself when the team is under pressure or is struggling,” he added.
