The defending champions, Gujarat Titans (GT) are all set to lock horns against CSK on 31st March. Skipper Hardik Pandya would be eager to make a mark that their triumph was not a fluke. Hardik Pandya would be bothered as David Miller is not available for the opening clash citing national duties.
All eyes would be on the shrewd leg spinner Rashid Khan who will have to lead the spin department. GT has got a dangerous bowling lineup in the form of Alzarri Joseph & Mohammed Shami where CSK’s batters would be tested as the Ahmedabad pitch offers a lot of assistance to the pacers.

No.5 is the perfect position for Hardik Pandya- AB de Villiers
AB de Villiers was having an interaction with Jio Cinema & spoke about Hardik Pandya. AB de Villiers pointed out that GT management should persist with the right-hand left-hand combination in the middle order.
“Hardik Pandya batting at No.4 in my opinion is a little high. In an ideal world, I would like to have him at No.5 or 6. But I think No.5 is the perfect position for him. If it can balance out with the right-left (combination) and the match situation, I don’t think there is a better position for him,” said AB de Villiers.

“You have got David Miller around him, Tewatia and Rashid Khan down the order at 7. I would like to see them break up the two lefties. Have Hardik at No.5, Miller at No.4 and Tewatia at No.6,” he added.

AB de Villiers was quite sure that GT can make it to the playoffs in IPL 2023. AB de Villiers also pointed out that GT has a threatening bowling lineup where they can skittle the opponent.
“Balance is the key. They have a match-winning and tournament-winning bowling attack. Also very experienced with a mix of youth in their batting line-up,” said AB de Villiers.
“They were no surprise to me when I saw them in the final last year. It will not surprise me to see them at the top again,” he added.
