The IPL 2023 auction will be held in Kerala on December 23. Sunrisers Hyderabad have the least remaining purse (0.10 crore) heading into the auction. The franchise are looking to revamp the squad and win their second IPL title.

In addition to their remaining purse, each team will be given an additional five crores to spend this year. As per a BCCI official, the overall purse will be between 90-95 crores. IPL 2023 might see as many as 74 matches being played.

There are several reports making the news that Shubman Gill is likely to be released by the Titans. Though nothing official can be said about it, it has kept a few franchises waiting to get him. SRH can be one of those who might target him if he is released.

After staying with KKR from 2018 to 2021, Gill was roped in by Gujarat as one of their marquee players ahead of IPL 2022. He was paid 7 crores. Gill had a fabulous season with Gujarat scoring 496 runs for the franchise in 16 games averaging 34.50 and striking over 130. He recently scored 126 off just 55 balls for Punjab in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy quarter0-final against Karnataka. The young opener has been named in the ODI and T20I squads for India’s tour to New Zealand later this month.

2) Wriddhiman Saha

Saha was brought in late into the side and played as an opener for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022. They roped him in for 1.9 crores. He scored 317 runs in 11 matches for the Titans last season at an average of 31.70 and a strike rate of over 120. Though Saha is aging 37 he is still one of the best keepers in this country.

SRH might be interested in roping in the services of Saha who has played for them previously. So far he has played 29 matches for Sunrisers scoring 553 runs at an average of 22.12 striking over 120. He has also taken 17 catches and affected three stumpings during his stay with the franchise.

3) Varun Aaron

SRH can look to target Varun Aaron. He is one of the most experienced pacers in the domestic circuit and has enough experience playing in the IPL. He was roped in for 50 lakhs in the last auction. He played five games for the franchise last season picking up just two wickets. He still can clock at a speed of 140 consistently. Aaron can certainly be a good addition to the side and a good backup for the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umran Malik.
