Although the auction for the upcoming IPL 2023 will be a regular auction as opposed to a mega auction, the excitement is still sky-high. Sunrisers Hyderabad started their IPL 2022 campaign with two back-to-back losses.
However, the men in orange bounced back and won their next 5 games on the trot. At that time, it looked as if they could finish among the top 2 teams in IPL 2022 points table. However, the team panicked when they had to be calm. In their next 7 games, they could win just a single match and be eliminated.
A lot of factors were responsible for SRH’s sudden dip in performance. The biggest of them was the inability of their captain Kane Williamson to bind the team together during crunch situations. While Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to qualify for the playoffs, a few of their players performed exceptionally well in the IPL 2022.

Umran Malik
Umran Malik is regarded as the future rockstar of Indian cricket. His performance with the bowl in IPL 2022 was something to cherish. Umran Malik clocked speeds in access of 150kmph in almost all the games he played for his franchise in IPL 2022. His spell against Gujrat Titans, where he picked 5/25, was one of the best bowling performances by any uncapped player in the IPL history.

Aiden Markram
Aiden Markram can be the fourth player Sunrisers Hyderabad can look to retain ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. The swashbuckling middle-order batsman was on the song during the IPL 2022. He scored 381 runs in 12 innings at a healthy average of 48 and a strike rate of close to 140. This also includes 3 half-centuries. Aiden Markram can change gears and play as per the situation. He is one of the foreign players SRH cannot afford to let go in the IPL 2023 auction
