IPL 2023 Auction: 5 Andhra Players SRH Can Target

SRH has the highest remaining purse of 42.25 crores heading into the IPL 2023 auction. They have released 13 players. the most by any during the retention window. The franchise finished eighth with six wins and eight losses. The franchise also released Kane Williamson and is on the lookout for its next skipper as well. The franchise is looking to revamp the entire squad and the hefty purse will come to their advantage. 

The IPL 2023 auction will be held in Kochi on December 23. A total of 991 players are set to go under the hammer in the upcoming auction. There are 714 Indian players and 277 overseas players in total. 21 players have registered themselves for a base price of 2 crores all of whom are overseas players.

Every franchise has a total salary cap of Rs. 95 crores in the auction. During the retentions, the 10 teams retained 163 players in their squad. Now, there are 87 slots available overall during IPL 2023 auction.

IPL 2023 Auction: 5 Andhra Players SRH Can Target

KS Bharat

Bharat is one of the most established domestic wicketkeepers at the moment. He played just 2 games in which he scored 8 runs in IPL 2022. In IPL 2021 with RCB, he scored 191 runs in just 7 innings at an average of 38.20. Hyderabad can go for Bharat who has proved his mettle in domestic cricket. He led Andhra in this year’s Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali tournaments.

Ashwin Hebbar 

Hebbar was picked up by Delhi Capitals for 20 lakhs in IPL 2022 but released during the retention window. He is a top-order batter and a clean striker of the ball. He was the highest run-scorer for Andhra in the Mushtaq Ali trophy 2021 scoring 279 runs in five games at an average of 93.00.

Ricky Bhui 

Bhui has represented the India U-19 and Andhra U-19 sides and has played two games for SRH in IP 2018. Bhui has been a consistent score for Andhra in domestic cricket. His domestic stats of 3217 runs in 53 FC games, 2040 in 63 List A games, and 1263 runs in 53 T20s is proof of the same. He can bat at the top of the order for Hyderabad.

Nitish Reddy

The 19-year-old all-rounder can be groomed to become one of the best for the side. He has picked up 12 wickets in domestic cricket across formats and scored 425 runs. As an all-rounder he can be flexible to play at any position.

Girinath Reddy 

Girinath has represented Andhra in U-19, 22, and 25 tournaments. He plays as a bowling all-rounder for his state side. He has scored 230 runs in 8 FC games, 231 runs in 32 List A games, and 228 runs in 22 T20s. With the ball, he has picked up 74 wickets in total. SRH can invest in these youngsters as they look to rebuild their squad.
