Kolkata Knight Riders have submitted their final list of retained players to BCCI. The two-time IPL champions have retained 15 players in their squad ahead of IPL 2023 auction.
The preparations for IPL 2023 auction are underway. BCCI had kept November 15 as the deadline for all 10 teams to submit their list of retained and released players. IPL 2023 mini-auction is currently planned to take place on December 23 in Kochi.

Kolkata Knight Riders were led by their new skipper Shreyas Iyer in the last season. The team could not come up with a good performance. KKR played 14 games during the league stage. They managed to win just 6 matches and lost 8. As a result, they finished in 7th place in the points table and failed to qualify for playoffs.
For KKR, skipper Shreyas Iyer was the top performer with the bat. The right-handed batter scored 401 runs in 14 games with 3 fifties. He was the only batter to cross the 400-run mark. Nitish Rana and Andre Russell also gave decent batting performances, scoring 361 and 335 runs respectively.
In bowling, Andre Russell was the top wicket-taker with 17 wickets in 14 games. Umesh Yadav was next with 16 wickets. Kolkata Knight Riders have been a powerful team in IPL seasons so far and they will look to bounce back in the IPL 2023 season.
