In addition to the money left over from the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction, each team will have an additional INR 5 crore to spend at the Indian Premier League 2023 mini-auction. This will lead to all 10 teams having a purse of INR 95 crore.

Also, the franchises have been asked by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to submit the list of the retained players by November 15.

Reportedly, the BCCI has not yet finalized the venue for the IPL 2023 auction. Initially, the BCCI had decided to organize the auction in Istanbul, but now they are looking at a few more options.

“Initially, Istanbul was being considered but it later surfaced that having the auction in Turkey could cause some logistical and operational issues as the BCCI and IPL teams will have to ensure that the coaching staff of the teams, spread across the globe, will have to be provided passage to the European country. That may not necessarily be easy but the BCCI is still working on this and a final decision is expected next week,” Cricbuzz reported.

Meanwhile, the Indian Premier League will go back to the home-and-away format after three long years in the IPL 2023. The Indian Premier League 2020 was held entirely in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
