Star India National Cricket Team all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is most likely to stay back with the 4-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), according to a TOI report.

Jadeja was appointed as the skipper of CSK just a few days before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 commenced. However, the team struggled under Jadeja’s captaincy as they won only 2 games and faced 6 defeats.

Jadeja’s form with bat and ball also took a massive blow as in the 15th edition of the cash-rich league he scored 112 runs and bagged 5 wickets.

In the middle of the season, Jadeja was removed from the captaincy and Dhoni was handed back the leadership. The all-rounder was miffed after he was unceremoniously removed from captaincy and consequently, he left the team’s camp in Mumbai after he got ruled out of the tournament due to a rib injury.

Also, Jadeja removed all posts related to the Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 and 2022 campaigns from his official Instagram account, which led to speculations of the all-rounder being released by the franchise.

All ten Indian Premier League (IPL) teams have been asked by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to submit the list of the retained players by November 15.

Teams have reportedly approached CSK for the transfer of Jadeja, but it seems Dhoni is hell-bent about keeping Jadeja with CSK.

“One understands that the skipper had made it clear to the management that Jadeja cannot be released. He is an extremely crucial member of the team and Dhoni felt Jadeja’s influence cannot be replicated by another player, especially with CSK to play their home games in Chennai,” TOI reported.

Meanwhile, the same report stated that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are likely to release pacers Chris Jordan and Adam Milne ahead of the Indian Premier League 2023 auction. Jordan was bought by the franchise for INR 3.60 crore and Milne was bought by the franchise for INR 1.90 crore.
