The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) could be the last season for legendary captain MS Dhoni, who is expected to sign off from the cash-rich league at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has opened up about MS Dhoni’s retirement and said that the former Indian skipper will hang up his boots in the upcoming season.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the most successful captains in IPL history, having led the franchise to the title four times in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021. The 41-year-old announced his retirement from the captaincy before the start of the 2020 season. However, he was forced to take up the leadership role in the middle of the tournament after Ravindra Jadeja resigned from the captaincy.

During a discussion on SportsYaari, Harbhajan Singh said that MS Dhoni will suddenly announce his retirement from the IPL as he did in Test cricket in 2014.
“See, he is MS Dhoni. Whatever he does, it will be very different. If he is going to leave, he will do it very suddenly. We saw how he left India’s Test captaincy in the same fashion,” Harbhajan told SportsYaari.
