The MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings have reached Chennai and have started training for IPL 2023.  The majority of the Indian players who are part of the side have assembled as well. The four-time IPL champions kick off the season by playing against Gujarat Titans in the season opener on March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni will be back to playing at the Chepauk after a gap of three years. They last played in Chennai in 2019. Due to covid, IPL 2020 and 2021 were held outside India while in 2022, the tournament was only restricted to Maharashtra.

This is likely to be Dhoni’s last season as the CSK skipper. Ahead of IPL 2022, he handed over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja only to take it back halfway through the season. Dhoni is now set to lead the side again and is part of the training camp in Chennai as the players break a sweat for the 2023 edition.

The official Twitter handle of CSK shared a clip of MS Dhoni’s intense power-hitting session from one of Chennais’s training sessions at the Chepauk. In the clip, he is seen hitting the ball to all parts of the ground. He hit three sixes towards long on and one straight over the bowler’s head.
