IPL auction 2023 broke all the previous records after Sam Curran became the highest-ever buy in IPL history. Punjab Kings picked the England all-rounder for whopping Rs. 18.50 crores during the IPL auction 2023. Cameron Green at Rs. 17.50 crores and Ben Stokes at Rs. 16.25 crores were some other expensive players in the auction.

Billy Stanlake is the first overseas player who should retire from T20s after going unsold in the IPL auction 2023. The right-arm Australian pacer had a base price of Rs. 50 lakh in the auction but went unsold.

He last played in IPL in the 2018 season, when he played 4 games for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has gone unsold in the previous auctions too. His last international game was in November 2019 against Pakistan. Hence, Stanlake should consider retiring from the T20s.

2. Andre Fletcher

Andre Fletcher is another player who should retire from the T20s after going unsold in the IPL auction 2023. He has been part of IPL auctions in the past as well but never attracted any team. The wicketkeeper-batsman last played a T20I match against Pakistan in August 2021.

Fletcher has already reached 35 years of age and his future in IPL looks dark. Hence, he should pull the curtains on his T20 career.

Christiaan Jonker is another player who should retire from T20s after going unsold in the IPL auction 2023. He kept a base price of Rs. 50 lakh in the auction but went unsold. Jonker is a right-handed batsman from South Africa.

He has not managed to get any IPL contract so far. For South Africa, he has only played 2 T20I games. He played his last T20I match in October 2018. Jonker has already reached 36 years and should now consider retiring from the T20s.
