IPL Auction 2023: "I See RCB In 'Grand Final' For Best Auction"- Tom Moody

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bought the left-arm speedster Reece Topley for 1.90 Crores.  This would be his maiden IPL season where the pacer has a good record with the new ball. The speedster has been in and out of the England Cricket Team and had missed T20 WC due to an injury.

Will Jacks was bought by RCB for 3.2 Crores. The all-rounder can be seen playing the franchise circuit. The 24-year-old all-rounder recently made his Test as well as T20I debut against Pakistan in 2022. The batter has shown pretty decent hitting ability.

Tom Moody On RCB

Tom Moody was having an interaction with ESPNcricinfo and was asked about RCB. “I see RCB in the Grand Final for the best auction. They didn’t had to lot to do in the auction and what they have done is very clever. I see the strategy behind Will Jacks. I see a long term benefit in what he can produce. over a period of time and he has a cover for Maxwell as well. They are similar batters bowls off spin. Reece Topley is a steal where I see that they are a dynamic side,” said Tom Moody.

Exciting Season Ahead for RCB

As mentioned by Tom Moody, RCB didn’t had much to do in the auction. All eyes would be on Virat Kohli as the batter had a dreadful 2022 season where he was outplayed. It would be interesting to see whether RCB make him open the batting as they have got Rajat Patidar present.

RCB in 2022 edition failed to capitalize on the start as once again they failed to win the key moments of the match. With BCCI set to introduce home & away venue system, we can expect a lot of riveting contests and high scoring matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
