KKR vs SRH: "I Strongly Believe Rinku Singh Earning India Call-up"- Irfan Pathan Backs KKR's Rising Star To Excel

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) would be pumped up after defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) against all odds. KKR are all set to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on 14th April (Friday) at Eden Gardens. All eyes would be on Rinku Singh, we witnessed how he smashed 5 back-to-back sixes against GT’s Yash Dayal. Rinku showed never to say die attitude and scored 48 runs in 21 balls and struck 6 sixes and 1 four.

KKR all of a sudden are looking like a formidable unit, they have got good depth in both the batting and bowling departments. There are chances that the track at Kolkata would be a turner given the fact that KKR has got threatening spinners present in the form of Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy and Suyash Sharma.

SRH on the other side would be banking on Rahul Tripathi to guide the spinners in the middle overs. It would be interesting to see whether Harry Brook opens the batting as he was slowly getting into the groove against Punjab Kings (PBKS)

Rinku Singh played brilliantly in Vijay Hazare Trophy last year…- Irfan Pathan

Irfan Pathan was having an interaction with Star Sports and spoke about Rinku Singh. Irfan Pathan stated that Rinku Singh has excelled in the domestic circuit & was quite sure that Rinku Singh would definitely get a call-up for the Indian team after the heroics against GT.

“Selectors want to see two things; is this batter is a good fielder? He’s a gun fielder. Is his first-class average good? He has an average of 60 (59.89) in forty games. He played brilliantly in Vijay Hazare Trophy last year, batted at a strike rate of 100,” said Irfan Pathan.

“He also played good in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He only needed one thing; good performances in IPL. Now, selectors can have faith in his abilities when he takes on the opposition players at the international level. In the time to come, I strongly believe Rinku earning India call-up,” he added.

Steep Road ahead for SRH

There are still concerns for SRH despite registering a convincing victory against PBKS. SRH’s bowling lineup couldn’t bundle out the innings despite PBKS being in a precarious position at 88-9 and from that position, PBKS posted a decent score of 143-9.

SRH’s middle order looks quite fragile apart from Rahul Tripathi, it would be quite tough for the likes of Heinrich Klaasen & Harry Brook to score against the spinners. SRH fans would be hoping that Abhishek Sharma is fit & available for selection against KKR.
