Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) registered a convincing victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). SRH won the match by 23 runs and now have 4 points with a NRR (net run rate) of -0.82. Nitish Rana’s knock of 75 runs in 41 balls wasn’t enough to chase down the target of 229 runs.

KKR had a terrible start to their run chase, they were reduced to 20-3 in 3.3 overs. Nitish Rana couldn’t get support from the rest of the batters. Rinku Singh tried his best but the required run rate went beyond his reach as he scored 58 runs in 31 balls & he struck 4 fours & 4 sixes. Once again Andre Russell was dismissed cheaply & now KKR perhaps might drop Andre Russell.

Mayank Markande was the pick of the bowlers as he took 2 wickets & gave away only 27 runs in his 4 over spell on a flat track. SRH’s bowlers didn’t panic as scoring 87 runs in last 5 overs isn’t a big task in the modern cricket especially when Nitish Rana & Rinku Singh where present on the crease.

Earlier, it was the century of Harry Brook which propelled SRH’s score to 228-4. Harry Brook from ball 1 looked like a man on a mission as he smashed 100 runs in 55 balls and struck 12 fours & 3 sixes. The likes of Umesh Yadav & Lockie Ferguson were taken to the cleaners.

SRH would be ecstatic with this victory as KKR had the caliber of chasing the target given how deep they bat. KKR perhaps might make Jason Roy open the batting instead of Rahmanullah Gurbaz & make Sunil Narine play the role of finisher rather than at no.4 position.
