Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra said that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Harry Brook is yet to fire in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Aakash Chopra highlighted that Harry Brook struggled against spin bowling in the ongoing edition of the IPL.

The Hyderabad-based franchise bought him for a whopping Rs 13.25 crore at the IPL 2023 mini-auction, following his success for England in international cricket. Harry Brook made his debut for SRH against the Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad on Sunday, April 2.

In a video on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said that Sunrisers Hyderabad have depth in their batting lineup, but Harry Brook has not delivered up to his potential in the ongoing season.

“Everyone is a right-hander. The batting seems to have a lot of depth. In fact, you bought a Lamborghini in Harry Brook but he hasn’t got the Harry Potter wand yet. His magic has not worked. Put spin in front of Harry Brook and his situation turns bad,” Aakash Chopra said.

Mayank Agarwal Is Not In Very Good Form – Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra said that Mayank Agarwal has been struggling this season, and the skipper Aiden Markram’s record against spin bowling is poor. The former Indian opener said that Heinrich Klaasen bats lower down the batting order despite being good against spin bowling.

“Mayank Agarwal is not in very good form. Rahul Tripathi does play well but after him comes Aiden Markram. His numbers against left-arm spin are absolutely ordinary. Then comes Heinrich Klaasen, who plays spin okay but bats too low. After that, you see Washington Sundar and maybe Abdul Samad,” he added.

Washington Sundar Will Be Very Important – Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra suggests that SRH should use fast bowling against Kolkata batters as they don’t have a good record against bouncers. The cricketer-turned-commentator believes that Washington Sundar could play a big role in the match with a number of left-handers in the KKR line-up.

“I think if they score runs in batting, the bowling has the might. You have to use fast bowling if you have to catch Kolkata because Kolkata have the worst numbers against the bouncers. So unleash Umran Malik. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has good numbers against this team. So you will expect wickets from him,” he added.

“Then there is T Natarajan, then maybe Kartik Tyagi, if he is fit and available. Then you can attack with Mayank Markande and Washington Sundar. Washi Sundar will be very important in this game because the opposition team has a lot of left-handers,” he concluded.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their next match of the IPL 2023 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday, April 14.
