Harry Brook’s poor start in the Indian Premier League (IPL) continued on Friday as he flopped with the bat once again during the ongoing clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants.

The England batter has been garnering a lot of attention in recent months due to his stunning performances in international cricket. Thanks to those performances, he received his maiden IPL contract last December as Sunrisers Hyderabad spent a whopping Rs 13.25 crore. Expectations from him only increased after his impressive display during the Test series in New Zealand a few weeks ago where he registered scores of 89, 54, and 186.

Harry Brook, however, has failed to live up to the expectations so far. On his IPL debut, he managed to score only 13 runs from 21 balls before Yuzvendra Chahal castled him.

Harry Brook fails again

And for the second game in a row in the ongoing IPL, Harry Brook failed with the bat. He was also dismissed by a leg-spinner for the second game in a row. Brook does not have a very good record against leg spinners and the recent dismissals are likely to cause more problems for him.

On Friday, he came out to bat against Lucknow Super Giants when SRH were reeling at 50 for 3 after 8 overs. Krunal Pandey put LSG on top by dismissing Anmolpreet Singh (31) and captain Aiden Markram (0) on successive deliveries. And while SRH would have loved to see Harry Brook perform well with the bat, the right-handed batsman disappointed once again.

Harry Brook lasted only 4 balls while scoring 3 runs. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi ended his knock after the SRH batsman decided to dance down the track. He completely failed to read the ball and could not make any contact with the ball before Nicholas Pooran stumped him out. And as Brook failed to deliver once again, he garnered attention on social media for all the wrong reasons as several users trolled him.
