Lucknow Super Giants’ lethal pacer Mark Wood didn’t make it to the playing 11 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) which was quite astonishing. Mark Wood had taken 8 wickets in the first 2 matches which included a match-winning five-wicket haul against Delhi Capitals (DC)
SRH skipper Aiden Markram won the toss & opted to bat first against LSG in the 10th match of IPL 2023. Aiden Markram missed the first match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) due to national commitments. The onus would be on Aiden Markram to guide the batters in the middle-overs phase.

LSG’s right arm pacer Avesh Khan too was missing from LSG’s team. Mark Wood & Avesh Khan not only have the express pace but have got good control over their line & length. Mark Wood’s omission comes as a surprise, he can easily change the complexion of the match in the power-play overs.
LSG lost their last match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) when their middle-order batters got exposed against spinners. Skipper KL Rahul so far has looked off-color and needs to take responsibility & play a significant knock for the team in tough conditions of the match.

Mark Wood is down with flu, so he misses out, Avesh injured himself in the last game – KL Rahul
After losing the toss, LSG skipper KL Rahul revealed the reason behind the absence of Mark Wood & Avesh Khan. KL Rahul said that Wood is down with flu and Avesh is injured.
“Even during the last game I didn’t expect it to be a high-scoring one,” KL Rahul said.
“We will assess the conditions and try to do our best. Wood is down with flu, so he misses out. Avesh injured himself in the last game, so he is taking a break.”
