Mumbai Indians (MI) are all set to take on the dangerous Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 12th match of IPL 2023 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. This would be the first match for MI Wankhede as we can expect a run fest & at the same time later Dew may come into the action.

MI had a forgettable start to IPL 2023 after losing against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). MI would be keen to bounce back strongly after a rare batting lineup failure. The trio: skipper Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav & Ishan Kishan need to bat responsibly & play according to their credentials.

CSK would be booming with confidence after beating Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a topsy-turvy contest. The prowess of CSK is their batting lineup as they not only bat deep but have got a lot of pinch hitters present who can rattle any bowling lineup on a given day.

“We will bowl first. Think one of the most memorable venues not only the 2011 win but when we won in 2007, when we came back the reception we got was great. Generally got pace and bounce, you can play your shots We have a few injury concerns, Stokes has an injury, Moeen is not available. Ajinkya and Pretorious are playing. These are the two changes we have made,” said MS Dhoni.

Rohit Sharma during the toss spoke that he also would have liked to bowl first. Rohit Sharma stated that the team are focused on playing good cricket. Rohit Sharma also mentioned the reason behind Jofra Archer not playing.

“We would have. It’s a good pitch, always a good pitch to bat. Always something in it for the bowlers. We just have to play good cricket. We have been really well in the last few days, spoke about what went wrong in our last game in Bangalore, hopefully we can get the result tonight. Unfortunately we have got an injury, I would not call it an injury but it is just a precaution- Jofra is not playing, we have got the other guys. . It is a great feeling to be back at the Wankhede. The crowds have always been loud, look forward to playing in front of our home crowd,” said Rohit Sharma.
