Gujarat Titans lost Qualifier 1 against Chennai Super Kings on May 24. The side was bowled out for 157 chasing 173 to win. This was CSK’s first-ever win against GT. The conditions at the Chepauk were too difficult for the GT batters to overhaul the target.

Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, defeated LSG in the Eliminator to stay alive for the IPL final. They also managed to beat the Super Giants for the very first time in the IPL. MI posted 182 with the bat and bowled out LSG for just 101 to win the game by 81 runs. The margin of victory is one of the biggest in IPL playoffs. Three run-outs in Lucknow’s innings dismantled their chase.

Talking about head-to-head between GT and MI. MI are 2-1 ahead in the race. Both teams won one game each and both won at their home grounds as well. The home and away factor is expected to play a big role in this contest with the Titans playing at the Narendra Modi stadium. The GT fans will back their side to the hilt with Mumbai having to manage that aspect of the game as well.
