Gujarat Titans failed to chase 173 at the Chepauk to lose Qualifier 1. They were bowled out for 157 as Chennai won the match by 15 runs. The win was down to MS Dhoni’s masterful use of his resources on a track that made batting difficult in the second half.
Mumbai Indians, on the other other hand, defended 182 and won the match by 81 runs which is one of the biggest wins by runs in a playoff game. Lucknow Super Giants had three runouts in their innings and they finally folded out for 101. Akash Madhwal bowled a spell of 5/5 equalling Anil Kumble’s feat in IPL 2009.
