Mumbai Indians (MI) had won the toss & elected to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The visitors posted a mammoth score of 200-5. Harry Brook’s dismal run continued and was dismissed cheaply. Harry Brook was stunned by Akash Madhwal and now he has 3 ducks to his name in IPL 2023.

It didn’t seem as if Vivrant Sharma, the left-handed batter, was playing his first match of the season. Vivrant Sharma played a splendid knock of 69 runs in 47 balls and struck 9 fours and 2 sixes. Vivrant was seen playing quite a few innovative shots and dictated the terms.

Vivrant Sharma along with the experienced campaigner Mayank Agrawal were involved in a huge partnership of 140 runs in 13.5 overs. SRH would be slightly disappointed that they scored only 43 runs in the last 5 overs of the match and set a target of 201 runs to win for the hosts.

At the end of 2 overs, MI’s score was 17 runs for the loss of no wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was bowling the 3rd over, on the 5th delivery Ishan Kishan tried to play a pull shot but mistimed the hit as there was an awkward bounce and Harry Brook who was at mid on took a good diving catch.

Ishan Kishan was slowly getting into the groove and would rue his shot selection. Ishan Kishan was dismissed on 14 runs in 12 balls and struck 1 four and 1 six. MI’s score at 2.5 overs was 20-1 and all of a sudden SRH would believe that they can create some panic in MI’s camp.

Crucial Phase for MI

All eyes would be on MI skipper Rohit Sharma who not only will have to bat deep but made sure that he plays a significant knock of 70 odd runs for the team in this do-or-die match. It would be interesting to see what would be the approach of Cameron Green.

SRH though need a cluster of wickets if they want to outclass MI. Skipper Aiden Markram would be tested as he will have to use Umran Malik smartly, there are chances that Umran, who hasn’t had a fruitful season, would be targeted.
