RCB vs MI Match Prediction- Who Will Win Today’s IPL Match? IPL 2023, Match 5. IPL 2023 match 5 will see RCB taking on MI at the Chinnaswamy stadium on Sunday. The match starts at 7.30 pm on the double-header day. The Royal Challengers Bangalore are still looking for their maiden IPL title as they look forward to yet another IPL season. 

Mumbai Indians finished last in IPL 2022. The five-time champions won just four games last season. They lost the only game they played against RCB last year. Overall, both sides have played 32 matches with Mumbai winning 19 and RCB 12 games. Bangalore won four of the last five games between both sides. Mumbai last won against RCB in the IPL 2020.

RCB will be led by Faf du Plessis while Rohit Sharma will lead Mumbai Indians. He skipped the captain’s meet ahead of the campaign opener as he was feeling unwell. However, as per reports in TOI, he will be available for the opening game. After the disastrous season last year eyes will be on Rohit Sharma’s leadership as he is under the radar for the ODI World Cup in India. His batting along with leadership will be closely monitored as well. 

Both sides are missing key players ahead of the start of the season. Jasprit Bumrah is ruled out for Mumbai Indians while Josh Hazlewood will miss the first half of the season for RCB. Wanindu Hasarangs is also unexpected to be available for the first game as Sri Lanka is playing a bilateral series against New Zealand.

All the teams will play 14 games during the tournament which will include home and away games. Four teams that finish in the top four spots in the points table will qualify for playoffs. The IPL 2023 final will be played on May 28 in Ahmedabad.

The home and the away format will be back in IPL 2023 and the team will enjoy great fan support during their home games. All the teams have named their captains for the tournament. KKR was the last franchise to announce its captain. Nitish Rana will lead KKR in Shreyas Iyer’s absence who will miss most of the season due to his back injury.
