Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has lavished rich praise on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Harry Brook after his staggering knock in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He said that the right-hander isn’t only talented but also has a great game sense.

SRH batter Harry Brook played a staggering knock in the game against KKR and helped his side register their second win of the tournament. Harry Brook batted exceptionally well and became the first batter to hit a century in the IPL 2023.

Brook opened the innings for the team and went after the bowlers right from ball 1. He played breathtaking shots and paved his way through his first half-century in the IPL. He made sure that he carry his innings and make them memorable ones.

Brook scored a century and announced his arrival at the IPL with a dominating note. He smashed 12 fours and 3 sixes in his innings and helped his side post a total of 228 runs on the board. Notably, the batter didn’t have a good outing in the first three games as he bagged low scores.

Harry Brook’s brilliance made Harbhajan lavish rich praise on him. He said that the batter showed how good he is and was smart enough to negotiate the spinners as well. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he said:

“Harry Brook batted sensationally. When he was sold for such a big amount, many had their doubts about his price tag and how he will perform. But he has showed just how good he is and played to his strengths which was the pace. Whenever pacers showed up, he didn’t hold back

“Brook was smart enough to negotiate the spinners. Generally when you’re in the rhythm against pacers, you try to play similar shots against the spinners. But Brook smartly just took singles and doubles and then upped the ante once the pacers were back. This shows he doesn’t just have the talent but also the game sense to be successful.”

SRH vs MI: “Aiden Markram scored a crucial half-century” – Harbhajan Singh lauds SRH skipper

Apart from Brook, Aiden Markram and Abhishek Sharma were also the key batters for the team. While the skipper scored a crucial half-century for the team, the southpaw scored brutal 32 runs and helped his side post a gigantic total on the board.

Harbhajan Singh also lauded the duo of Markram and Abhishek for playing crucial innings for the team. He explained:

“Aiden Markram scored a crucial half-century and hit so many magnificent sixes against the spinners. The key was that he didn’t let the spinners set into a rhythm. Abhishek Sharma was also played in the middle order for the same reason and the duo dominated the spinners.”

Sunrisers Hyderabad will be next seen in action when they will take on Mumbai Indians on Tuesday (18th April).
