Former Indian cricketer and broadcaster Aakash Chopra hailed Harry Brooks for his great performance against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2023.

Brook struck a stunning century for SunRisers Hyderabad in their easy win over KKR. Brooks’ innings were regarded as “absolutely sensational” by Chopra, who also lauded his technique and temperament.

In a game on April 14, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), after being chosen to bat first in Kolkata, set a lofty 229-run total for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Harry Brook, the team’s opener, continued his unbroken streak and scored a century off just 55 balls to contribute to their enormous total. Later, SRH bowlers held Nitish Rana and company to 205/7, allowing them to win by a comfortable 23 runs.

“Markram’s half-century was as important” – Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra, a former Indian cricketer, emphasized how Aiden Markram’s explosive performance was essential to Brook’s success in their encounter. Markram, who hit 50 runs off just 26 balls, was crucial in assisting Brook’s in exceeding their opponents’ aim. Markram’s wicket was crucial, according to Chopra, since it gave Brook momentum and allowed them to lay a solid foundation for the rest of their innings.

“Aiden Markram’s half-century was as important as Harry Brook’s century. There is no doubt that Brook’s century was very good, he is an amazing player, but the contribution Aiden Markram had in that – scored 50 runs, hit five sixes, and all against spin,” Aakash Chopra added.
