Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra said that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Harry Brook is not able to read leg-spinners and if he doesn’t perform well it’ll be a big problem for the team going ahead into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
English star Harry Brook hasn’t lived up to the expectations in the ongoing IPL 2023. He was acquired by the Orange Army for the whopping price of INR 13.25 crores and with the kind of international form he had, it was expected that he would take the league by storm.

However, not even a glimpse of his international form has been on the offer in the two games he played for SRH. Brook has struggled to get going against the leg spinners and was dismissed for low scores in both games. In the game against Rajasthan Royals, he was undone by the spin of Yuzvendra Chahal and managed just 13 runs in 21 balls. In the next game, he was outfoxed by Ravi Bishnoi as he was stumped for just 3 runs in 4 balls.
With Brook struggling to get going, Chopra has highlighted that the batter is struggling to read leg spinners and in the game against Punjab Kings he will have his match-up against Rahul Chahar. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he said:

Not only Harry Brook but SRH too has struggled to get going in the league. They have suffered two thumping losses in the league. Their batting hasn’t been up to the mark, which has been the main reason behind their downfall. Aakash Chopra feels that for SRH to return to winning ways, skipper Aiden Markram needs to score. He elaborated:

“SRH looks a great team on paper and we all thought they will easily make it to the playoffs. But the performance so far has been far from convincing. Will they stick to Anmolpreet or bring back Abhishek Sharma and then play Klaasen in the middle order? They have a good record at home but big players like Aiden Markram need to score big.”
SRH will next face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their next game of the IPL 2023. The game will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday (9th April).
