Jio TV to Stream All Televised Matches for the Next 5 Years Involving India Ones

The Jio TV app will allow the subscribers of the telecom operator to televise all the India cricket matches for the next five years.

It has been set as a part of the deal which it has signed with broadcaster Star India. As per the new agreement, Jio TV users will get the option to stream all three formats of the game involving India. It also features the domestic matches played in India.

The matches will get streamed on Hotstar, a video streaming app which is owned by Star India.

Meanwhile, Airtel TC also streams cricket matches of the Indian cricket team on its application. In a statement released by Jio, it mentioned for the first time that a cricket production, a streaming platform and a high-speed data network had come together to “deliver the best of cricketing content with connectivity to benefit the Indian customers.

All must have an active Jio number. However, no additional charges will be applied to access the live stream of the cricket matches. It is part of a suite of free content apps that the operator provides to all Prime Customers. It is available for all Android and iOS.

Jio recently became the 2nd largest standalone operator in the country this July. It gained more than 11 million new users in a single month. It went past established networks like Vodafone, Idea as per the data obtained from TRAI.

Speaking on the partnership with Jio, the Director of Jio said every Indian should have access to the best sporting events as well as quality.

“Every Indian must have access to the best sporting events as well as quality and affordable bandwidth to consume the content. With this partnership, we intend to address both these objectives of providing the best sporting content with the best digital infrastructure to the Jio users.”
