After the three-match T20I series, England and Sri Lanka face off in a three-match ODI series starting with the first game in Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street, on Tuesday, June 29. Meanwhile, both teams have injury concerns heading into the series. England’s Jos Buttler was ruled out of the series due to a calf injury. Dawid Malan was added to the side. Jason Roy missed the third T20I due to a tight hamstring. The board is yet to give an update on his injury. Joe Root has been roped in into the ODI side. He played his last ODI for England in September 2020.

Meanwhile, for the Lankans, Avishka Fernando has sustained an injury to his right quadriceps (Grade 2 Tear) during the 2nd T20I. The Sri Lankan fans have also expressed their anger at their team losing this ODI series. They lost an ODI series previously as well against Bangladesh earlier this year.
