Ireland vs Zimbabwe- Prediction, Today’s Winner, Most Runs, Most Wickets: 5th T20I. Ireland and Zimbabwe will play the fifth T20 international at Bready Cricket Club in Northern Island on Saturday. At the time of writing, both teams have played three games thus far. Zimbabwe took the lead in the series after winning the first T20 international by 3 runs.
However, Ireland came back strongly as they won the next two games. Ireland won the second T20 international by 7 wickets and won the third one by 40 runs.
After both the teams won one game each in the series, the third game was the one to look forward to. Ireland batted first in the third T20 international and notched a 178-run total in the first innings. Paul Sterling was the star performer with the bat. He notched a mammoth 115 runs off 75 balls, a knock which was laced with 8 fours and as many sixes.
Kevin O’ Brien who batted well in the second game scored only 9 runs. Skipper, Balbirnie finally got some runs under his belt in the series as he scored 31 off 24 balls. Getkate remained unbeaten on 19 off 11 balls.
Zimbabwe lacked someone who could contribute with wickets in that game. Jongwe and Ryan Burl were the only bowlers who picked a wicket each.
Zimbabwe needed a good start to chase the total down but it couldn’t be. Both the openers went back to the pavilions inside the first four overs. Wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals and Zimbabwe never looked like chasing the target successfully. Skipper Craig Ervine did entertain for a little period of time, scoring 33 off 18 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes. Zimbabwe could manage 138 runs in the second innings and thus handed Ireland a 40-run win.
Mark Adair picked three wickets for 11 runs in 3 overs, while Joshua Little, Shane Getkate, and Benjamin White picked two wickets each.
