SCO vs ZIM Match Prediction- Who Will Win Zimbabwe vs Scotland 1st T20I? Scotland and Zimbabwe will take on each other in the first of the three-match T20 series at Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh on Wednesday. Both sides previously met each other only once in T20 international during the ICC 2015-16 T20 World Cup. Zimbabwe won that game by 11 runs.

Zimbabwe would be wanting to maintain continue their winning run against Scotland. However, their recent form in the shortest form isn’t something that they would be proud of. They recently played against Ireland in the five-match T20 series. They began the series with a 3-run win against Ireland in the first game.

However, they went on to lose the next three matches. Zimbabwe won the last game but lost the series by a margin of 2-3. Ahead of the T20 World Cup, Zimbabwe would look to finalize their strongest playing eleven.

Skipper, Craig Ervine is, arguably, the best T20 batsman at the moment. He has been in terrific form with the bat and was also the highest run-getter for Zimbabwe in the recent T20 series against Ireland. He amassed 160 runs in 5 matches at an average of 40.

Besides, it will be interesting to see how players namely Ryan Burl, Milton Shumba, Wessley Madhevere, etc perform with the bat. Shumba scored 79 runs in 5 matches, while Burl made 75 runs in 3 innings. Wesley Madhevere is one of the integral cogs in the batting department. He, however, had a quiet outing against Ireland, having managed only 50 runs in 5 matches at a dismal average of 10.00.

Talking about the bowling department, Luke Jongwe continued to impress one and all with his exploits. He picked seven wickets in 5 T20 internationals against Ireland at an average of 15.12. Ryan Burl also made decent returns, though he wouldn’t be too happy with his performance.

Blessing Muzarabani was brilliant in the ODIs against Ireland. He finished as the leading wicket-taker in the series with 6 wickets in 3 games. He is likely to play a big role if Zimbabwe fancies their chances in the series.

The hosts, Scotland haven’t played any T20 international since November 2019. They last appeared in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup qualifier 2019-20. At the end of the league stage, Scotland found itself at number four on the table with 3 wins in 6 matches.

George Munsey finished as their leading run-getter, having managed to score 234 runs in 8 matches. With the ball, SM Sharif picked the most wickets for them with 13 wickets in 7 games.

The duo is, once again, likely to play a big role in the series. Besides, the onus will also be on the likes of Calum MacLeod, MH Cross, and RD Berrington to score the bulk of runs for the side.
