Scotland vs Zimbabwe Prediction- 2nd T20I. Scotland played its first T20 international on Wednesday against Zimbabwe after close to 2 years. Much to the delight of their fans, they finished the game on a winning note. They won the game by 7 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Scotland won the toss and opted to bat first in the first game. Though, they didn’t make a great start and had lost their first three wickets after adding just 17 runs to the total. Their two biggest bets, G Munsey (1 off 2) and skipper Coetzer (2 off 3) didn’t make any substantial contribution. Berrington, however, waged a lone battle and played right till the end of the innings.
MacLeod (6 off 12) and M Cross (14 off 18) tried to get going but got out without staying for too long. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals but Berrington ensured runs keep coming at one end. He played a sensational 82-run knock off just 61 deliveries, including 7 fours and 3 sixes. Thanks to his knock, Scotland finished their innings at 141 runs.
Zimbabwe, too endured the worst possible start as they lost both their openers for just 5 runs inside the first three overs. Regis Chakabva and Craig Ervine, however, led the recovery, adding 48 runs for the third wicket. However, both of them got out at a crucial period in the game. Chakabva (17 off 17) and Ervine (26 off 17) would be guilty of throwing away their starts.
Seal Williams and Milton Shumba kept Zimbabwe in the game till the time they were at the crease. However, Williams’ wicket (28 off 28) in the 17th over shifted the momentum as wickets fell in quick succession thereafter.
Milton Shumba (45 off 30) remained unbeaten till the end and tried his best but there was little support at the other end. Zimbabwe, in the end, fell 7 runs short of the target as they managed 134 runs in the second innings.
The second T20 international is scheduled to be played on Friday at Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh.
