India right-arm seamer Deepak Chahar has posted a message on his official Twitter handle suggesting that he will be opening the innings for the team in tonight’s T20 Internationals clash against New Zealand at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
The New Zealand tour of India 2021 is set to have three T20 Internationals and Two Test battles between the two of the best all-format teams in the World. After the first T20I on 17 November, the second T20I will be played at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi, on November 19, and the third T20I will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on November 21.
Meanwhile, this T20I series will be Rohit Sharma’s first assignment as a permanent T20I captain of India. Also, this will be Rahul Dravid’s first assignment as a permanent Head Coach.
Following the T20I series, India will lock horns with New Zealand in the two-Test matches. The first Test match of the series will begin on November 25 at Green Park, Kanpur, and the second Test will begin on December 3 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Ahead of the highly anticipated T20I battle against New Zealand, Deepak Chahar shared a picture of training sessions. He was seen taking some batting tips from the newly appointed India T20I captain and one of the best batsmen in the world Rohit Sharma. In the picture, Deepak Chahar was seen holding the bat, and he wrote:

Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar is expected to feature in the Playing XI as the first choice pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have been rested for the series.
