Maharashtra Government has allowed Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to host the second Test match between India and New Zealand at 100 per cent seating capacity.

India are set to lock horns with New Zealand in the two-Test matches in the New Zealand tour of India, the first Test match of the series will begin on November 25 at Green Park, Kanpur, and the second Test will commence on December 3 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Notably, Mumbai Cricket Association last hosted a Test game in 2016, and now after almost 5 years, they will be hosting the Test match.

Meanwhile, before the Test matches, India will play the 3-match T20 Internationals series against Kane Williamson and co. which will begin from 17 November at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, the second T20I will be played at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi on November 19, and the third one at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on November 21.

The Government Has Allowed MCA To Have 100 Per Cent Capacity For The Second Test – Source

The sources within the MCA confirmed to ANI that Maharashtra Government has agreed, and they have allowed MCA to have 100 per cent seating capacity for India vs New Zealand second Test match. The source also confirmed that MCA’s Bandra-Kurla Complex will host a preparatory camp.

“Yes, the government has allowed MCA to have 100 per cent capacity for the second Test at Wankhede. We will also be hosting a preparatory camp at the Bandra-Kurla Complex from Monday to give the players a proper chance to get ready for the series,” the source said.

Meanwhile, All the Indian Test specialist players, including vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane who will also be captaining the team in the first Test as Virat Kohli, will join the team in the second Test match, Cheteshwar Pujara, Umesh Yadav, Mayank Agarwal, Shubman Gill, Ishant Sharma and Wriddhiman Saha are expected to be part of that camp.
