Former India captain Virat Kohli scored his 46th ODI century in the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, January 15. Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt hailed Virat Kohli as one of the fittest athletes and compared him with football icon Cristiano Ronaldo.
Virat Kohli returned to his best form in white-ball cricket and started the new year on a great note. The 34-year-old scored an unbeaten 166 off 110 balls with 13 fours and eight sixes and was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance. The right-handed batsman is now only three behind Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 tons.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Salman Butt said that Virat Kohli is on par with Cristiano Ronaldo when it comes to maintaining fitness standards.
“He’s no less than any Ronaldo. Among all the top fitness freaks sportsmen around the world, he stands right up there,” Salman Butt said.

Salman Butt said that Virat Kohli takes time to settle at the crease and then scores boundaries with ease. The former Pakistan opener said that Kohli has returned to form as he has converted his scores into big centuries.

“I think Virat Kohli is back to his best, maybe back to his normal. He used to score plenty of runs and hundreds consistently. This is the absolute way of playing ODI.
“You make a steady start, play ball-by-ball, put away bad balls and score run on good deliveries. Once fully set, he was consistently able to hit it over the boundary easily. There was a low-risk factor. This shows how much control he has over the game when he is on the song,” Butt added.
Virat Kohli will next play at home in a three-match ODI series against New Zealand, with the first match starting at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, on Wednesday, January 18.
