India takes on New Zealand in a must-win match in the second T20I in Lucknow. The Kiwis won the first IND vs NZ T20I by 21 runs and are leading the series. The series continues the preparations for both teams for the ODI World Cup later this year.

After beating Sri Lanka at home in the last series, Hardik Pandya has been retained as the captain of the India National Cricket Team for the series against New Zealand. Rohit Sharma meanwhile said that he will decide on his T20I future after IPL 2023.

The New Selection committee led by Chetan Sharma, have picked India’s T20 squad for the upcoming series against New Zealand. Hardik Pandya has been appointed as the captain of the T20 side with senior players including Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul being rested for the series.

The first T20I loss exposed India’s death bowling concerns once again. Arshdeep Singh was guilty of leaking 27 runs in the final over of the Kiwi innings that helped the to get to 176 a score that proved more than enough on the Ranchi wicket.

After the loss, the management might look to make some changes to the playing XI. Changes are required in both batting and bowling departments, especially after the performance of a few players.

Chahal should replace Arshdeep in the second T20I and Prithi Shaw should replace Rahul Tripathi who wasted a good opportunity to score some crucial runs for his team.
