The New Selection committee led by Chetan Sharma, have picked India’s T20 squad for the upcoming series against New Zealand. Hardik Pandya has been appointed as the captain of the T20 side with senior players including Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul being rested for the series.

The first T20I loss exposed India’s death bowling concerns once again. Arshdeep Singh was guilty of leaking 27 runs in the final over of the Kiwi innings that helped the to get to 176 a score that proved more than enough on the Ranchi wicket.

After the loss, the management might look to make some changes to the playing XI. Changes are required in both batting and bowling departments, especially after the performance of a few players.

Shaw should open the batting in the second T20I. He was benched for the first T20I despite being in the squad. His attacking style of play is required in the must-win clash in the second T20I. He is fresh off a good run of form in domestic cricket smashing 379 against Assam in Ranji Trophy.
