IND vs NZ: Watch – Ishan Kishan And Team India Poke Fun At Tom Latham

The 24-year-old wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan and the India National Cricket Team poked fun at the New Zealand National Cricket Team captain and wicketkeeper-batter Tom Latham during the ODI series opener on Wednesday, January 18, in Hyderabad.

Latham came out to bat after the dismissal of Henry Nicholls in the 16th over, which was bowled by the Indian left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

On the 4th ball of the over, Kuldeep delivered a good length ball, pitching on leg-stump, to Latham and he went back in the crease to play a defensive backfoot push.

As Latham played his shot, the bails were dislodged and the Indian team appealed for a hit-wicket. The decision went upstairs and on the replays, it was seen that the Black Caps captain was nowhere near the sticks and it was the Indian gloveman Kishan who cheekily dislodged the bails.

Latham was not at all impressed with Kishan and the Indian players’ move and many on social media platforms slammed the Indians. Also, Kishan had a witty smile on his face after the happening.

Earlier in the match, Latham was also involved in a controversial dismissal. On the 4th ball of the 40th over, the third umpire made a controversial decision that led to Hardik Pandya’s dismissal.

Daryl Mitchell delivered a good length ball, pitching outside off-stump to Hardik and the all-rounder tried to play the ball fine, but the extra bounce meant that he missed it completely. The ball went into wicket-keeper Latham’s gloves and the bails were also dislodged.

New Zealand appealed for a bowled dismissal. The decision went to the third umpire and when the split screen was shown, it looked like the ball didn’t disturb the bails and the bails have been dislodged off the gloves of wicket-keeper Latham. However, the third umpire made the decision in New Zealand’s favour and declared Hardik out.
