Daryl Mitchell and Devon Conway scored fifties to take the Kiwis to 176/6 in their 20 overs. Fin Allen gave the visitors an explosive start to give them the momentum as well. India pulled things back in the middle-overs but Arshdeep Singh’s 20th over released all the pressure.
India were in the hunt in the chase till Suruakumar Yadav was at the wicket. Once he was dismissed, India lost the edge in the chase. Washington Sundar’s 50 came a little too late for the Men in Blue. The top-order failed to give India a good start in the chase. This is where the management might look towards Prithvi Shaw who was picked in the squad after his good run of form in domestic cricket.
