Virat Kohli and his men will play a five-match Test series starting from August 1 at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Following the South Africa tour, Karthik has become a regular feature in the squad.

Moreover, he grabbed headlines for his last-ball six in the Nidahas Trophy final owing to the Tri-nation series. He also rose to form and led the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with such aplomb.

Giving his ability to swing the ball, he will certainly boost the confidence of the India side.

However, death specialist Jasprit Bumrah is struggling to get fit in time. He is likely to miss the Test series. The pacer, nevertheless, will continue to remain in the scheme of things and walk back once he is fully fit.
