Harbhajan Singh Urges People to Stop Blaming Political Parties for Amritsar Tragedy

India veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh has urged people to stop blaming political parties for the Amritsar train tragedy occasion of Dussehra. Meanwhile, 61 people got killed, and more than 70 people were left injured in the train accident. However, the auspicious occasion of Dussehra turned into a tragedy in Punjab’s Amritsar on October 19 (Friday) evening.

Moreover, more than 700 people had gathered near the Joda Phatak area of Choura Bazar to watch the burning of the Ravana effigy. It was a cry of horror and government announced all sorts of help. However, few eyewitnesses of the incident blamed Congress for the tragic happening.

In addition to that, Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu was present at the venue as the chief guest. A BJP leader said she had left the area soon after the accident, which was denied by Navjot.

“Congress had organised Dussehra celebrations here without permission. Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife was the chief guest at the celebrations, and she continued to give a speech as people were struck down by the train.” an eyewitness at Amritsar incident site told ANI.

Harbhajan Singh took it to Twitter to write,

“Can I plz request people to stop blaming each other’s or parties.. it’s not about political thing..it’s a very sad incident which has happen…it’s time for all the political parties and people to come together and help each others..STOP THIS BLAME GAME FOR GOD SAKE”

However, Punjab Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh announced a compensation of INR 5 lakhs to the victims. While on the other hand, the railways issued helpline numbers for those affected.

“Rushing to Amritsar to personally supervise relief and rescue in tragic rail accident on Dussehra in Amritsar. My government will give Rs 5 lakh to kin of each deceased and free treatment to injured in government and private hospitals. District authorities have been mobilised on war footing,” Singh tweeted.
