Pakistan are set to play a three-match T20 series against Bangladesh, starting 19th November. Babar Azam and Co. are coming into the tournament on the back of a successful outing in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

Pakistan exhibited sensational performances in the perennial tournament. They remained unbeaten in the Super 12 stage and topped Group 2 with five wins in five matches. However, their campaign came to an end after Australia defeated them by 5 wickets in the second semi-final match.

Pakistan named an 18-man squad for the T20 series, which is similar to the one picked in ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The only change is Iftikhar Ahmed replacing M Hafeez in the squad. Babar Azam will lead the side, while M Rizwan will be his deputy. Both will once again be seen opening the innings.

The middle-order will comprise the likes of Fakhar Zaman, Shoaib Malik, Haider Ali, Asif Ali to name a few. Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead the pace department, which also consists of the likes of Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Shahnawaz Dahani etc.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, endured a poor outing in the T20 World Cup. 2 wins in 3 matches in the first round meant Bangladesh managed to reach the Super 12s. However, they couldn’t win a single game in the Super 12 round.

Bangladesh would be disappointed with their performances and would look to make amends in the T20 series against Pakistan. Though, it won’t be easy as their senior players won’t be participating due to several reasons. Shakib Ali Hasan, M Saifuddin, and Tamim Iqbal won’t be playing due to injuries, while Mushfiqur Rahim has been rested for the series.

Add to that, Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar have been dropped following poor performances in the T20 World Cup 2021. Mahmudullah Riyad will continue to lead the team for three the T20s.
