Shikhar Dhawan

Dhawan has not been consistent enough for Punjab Kings in IPL 2022. So far he has scored 214 runs from seven games and is not in the top 10 list of run-getters at the moment. His form has been nowhere close to what it was for the Delhi Capitals in the last couple of years.

Ideally, Jonny Bairstow should be opening with Shikhar Dhawan. However, Punjab Kings have preferred Mayank Agarwal at the top of the order. He too like Dhawan has been inconsistent. He needs to get back into scoring runs given that the side is getting into a must-win territory.

One of the reasons why Punjab Kings has struggled is the form of Jonny Bairstow. He started the season later and has not hit his strides. He will hope t get back some form in this game.

Liam Livingstone

Livingstone started the tournament brilliantly for his side but has tapered off a little bit. The England batsman needs to fire if Punjab Kings are to beat CSK in this game.

The Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batsman played the first few games but then was dropped from the XI. He needs to return to the playing Xi instead of Nathan Ellis who played the last game. Bhanuka’s inclusion will also allow Punjab to play an extra spinner in the lineup.

Shahrukh Khan

The big-hitter from Tamil Nadu has had a disappointing season for Punjab Kings so far in the season. He has to pick his game up to help Punjab get back to winning ways.

Rabada picked up 1 for 28 when the teams played earlier in the season. He dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad in that game. He is not within the top 10 wicket-takers at the moment and has looked a bit rusty in the last few games.

Harpreet Brar

Brar can be one of the two spinners PBKS should look to include in their playing XI. CSK have a lot of right-handers in their playing XI and thus he can be a great match-up against them.

Rahul Chahar

Chahal has been the most successful bowler for Punjab Kings so far in the season. He has taken 10 wickets in seven games. He took the only wicket to fall for Delhi Capitals in their last game.

Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh will be one of the two Indian pacers with Vaibhav Arora being the other one. The left-arm pacer was previously retained by the franchise but has had diminishing returns so far in the season.

Arora will complete Punjab Kings’ predicted playing XI for their clash against CSK. He has been bowling pretty well and can be a handful with the new ball.
