The 15th match of the Pakistan Super League 2022 will have Quetta Gladiators take on Lahore Qalandars at National Stadium in Karachi on Sunday. Lahore Qalandars have made an ideal start to the tournament. They have managed to register 3 wins out of four and thus are sitting at the second position on the points table. They are coming off a morale-boosting 8-run win over Islamabad United on Saturday.

Fakhar Zaman and Shafique got the team off to a great start in the first innings as the duo compiled 83 runs inside the first eight overs. Fakhar Zaman scored 38 runs in 27 balls, while Shafique amassed 44 in just 24 deliveries. However, Shadab Khan’s arrival in the 8th over saw a change in fortunes. From 83 for 0 after 7.1 overs, Lahore Qalandars slipped to 98 for 5 in 12 overs.
Harry Brook and David Wiese then steadied the ship as they duo compiled a 51-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Brook scored 37 runs in 26 deliveries, while Wiese managed to score 20 runs in 14 balls. Rashid Khan’s unbeaten 8-ball 15-run cameo took the team to 174 runs in the first innings.

In reply, Islamabad United were restricted to 166 runs, thereby falling 8 runs short of the target. Needing 12 runs in the final over, Zaman Khan gave away only 3 runs. He finished with figures of 1 for 29 in 4 overs. Shaheen Afridi (1 for 24) and Rashid Khan (1 for 21) also made great returns.
Facing them are Quetta Gladiators, who are sitting at second from the bottom of the points table. In 4 matches, they have only secured a single win. They have lost their last two matches and would want to get back to winning ways.
Quetta Gladiators’ bowling unit was ripped apart by Islamabad United in the last game as they notched a gigantic score of 229 runs in the first innings. All the bowlers except M Nawaz (2 for 32) went for more than 10 runs an over.

In response to that, Quetta Gladiators were restricted to 186 runs in the second innings. Ahsan Ali played an outstanding knock of 50 runs in 27 balls, however, all the other batsmen in the top-six went failed to impress.
The Gladiators lost 7 wickets for just 110 runs. Later, M Nawaz (47 off 22) and James Faulkner (30 off 14) played vital knocks with the bat but only to delay the inevitable. Heading into the fifth game, they would be looking to get back to winning ways.
