India’s Star Batter Robin Uthappa has decided to call time on his career. The right-handed batter who was a part of the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 triumph. The batter had created his name for the attacking brand of cricket. Former CSK batter would be missed in IPL as he was striking the ball sweetly.

Robin Uthappa has found it quite tough to cement his place on the National Team. The selectors have not given him a long rope which may be one of the reasons for not having a long National Career. The highlight of Uthappa’s career was the 2014 IPL Season as he had won Orange Cap and played a huge role in helping KKR win their 2nd title.

Franchise Cricket on cards for Robin Uthappa

Robin Uthappa is all set to play leagues around the world. BCCI doesn’t give permission to play leagues while in a national contract or any other one. Suresh Raina who had earlier taken retirement from all forms of the game is all set to participate in leagues. The left-hander was an integral part of CSK for s many years but in the 2022 Auction, he was unsold which might have forced him to take that decision.

Robin Uthappa would be hoping that he could play for 2-3 years more and enjoy the game of Cricket. We all have seen how destructive Robin could be when in full form. Even the franchises would benefit from him as he is an experienced campaigner. It would be interesting to see whether the batter stil has a passion for the game.
