Pretoria Capitals continued to stay on top in SA20 securing their fifth win defeating MI Cape Town by 52 runs. Batting first, the opening pair of Will Jacks (62 off 27 balls) and Kusal Mendis (29 off 19 balls) gave Capitals an explosive start (88-run partnership) that ended their innings at 182. In defence, Capitals’ captain Wayne Parnell got three wickets, conceding just 14 runs, helping to bowl out MI Cape Town for 130. Will Jacks also contributed with the ball picking up the wicket of George Linde.
Viacom18 Sports expert Pragyan Ojha spoke highly about Jacks’ performance and felt Royal Challengers Bangalore would be eager to have him. “I think it was his day. There was one dropped catch but the way he was batting, he’s got that clarity if you see this kind of shots it tells you that he’s got a very good self-belief, he knows where he is going to go and what are the shots that he needs to play.”
“After that when you see him bowl, especially that wicket, he was teasing the batsman and that is the reason why he was given the ball and he picked one crucial wicket. I think in India , Bangalore (Royal Challengers Bangalore) would be waiting to find out a place for him,” added Ojha.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape will face Paarl Royals at 5:00 pm while Joburg Super Kings will take on Durban’s Super Giants tonight at 9:00 pm, live on JioCinema, Sports18 – 1, Sports18 Khel and Colors Tamil.
